Vacating - Check List


THE 23 STEPS TO GETTING YOUR BOND BACK

Inside
Pay the rent up to the Vacate Date
Remove all of your furniture and rubbish
Leave all chattels and fixtures belonging to the house, including telephones.
Repair all damage caused by you, your family or visitors.
Clean the sink and kitchen bench.
Clean the oven, inside and out, under the elements on the stove, and the warmer drawer.
Clean all cupboards inside and out .
Clean the bathtub, shower, basin and toilet (remember to scrub off any soap build up).
Clean the walls, ceilings and paintwork (especially in the kitchen and bathroom).
Clean all windows and frames.
Wash all nets and shower curtain(s) and rehang.
Remove all cobwebs.
Sweep and mop all washable floors.
Clean out fireplace (if applicable) – remove ash and clean the front glass window of woodburning stove.
Outside Mow the lawns.
  Weed the garden.
Remove all rubbish and junk from the garage, shed and yard.
Remove grass clippings and prunings.
Remove dog faeces and bones, and fill in any holes created.
Trim any hedges
Sweep the paths
Lastly Lock up when you have finished.
  Return all keys to us on the day you leave. You are liable for all keys until they have been signed in either by yourself or someone on your behalf. We may also charge for rent up to the day the keys are handed in, even if it is past your vacate date.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

· Power: The meter must be read and the final account sent to your new address
· Gas: If you have any gas appliances arrange the same as for power.
· Telephone: Have it disconnected and the final account sent to your new address.
· Home Power: Cards belong with the property and must be returned with the keys.

We consider three weeks to be ample time to attend to all of the above and advise that any cleaning, tidying or damage noted at the final inspection will be carried out by our staff and costs will be deducted from your bond. Therefore if you intend to ignore any of these steps let the inspector know before the final inspection so the situation can be discussed.

We will happily give you a glowing reference if you are paid up to date and have left the property in CLEAN AND TIDY CONDITION.
